The material read
Ground contact is what kills wood post-and-rail in Massachusetts, usually inside twelve to twenty years, as the post rots at the soil line while the rails above still look fine. Composite gives rot no fiber to work on, and the salt and sand thrown by plows do nothing to it. Cold does not make it brittle the way it does vinyl.

Not by itself. Rails leave wide gaps that most dogs walk through. Wire backing can close those gaps. Ask for any wire backing and gates to be included in the project quote.
Not when the rails are solid composite and spans are held to about 6 feet. Sagging shows up where hollow rails span too far or where posts lack reinforcement. Composite rails also move with temperature, so they are cut with end clearance inside the post pockets rather than driven in tight.
